54 Pearls: 15 – Who am I really?
Our suffering is produced by our emotional afflictions. If we can severe this root cause, we can attain true happiness. The core teaching of Sakyamuni Buddha is that we must vanquish our minds. Every day, every hour, every moment we must transform our impure motivations. The more we purify our minds, the more we enjoy a state that is free, natural and capable. On the other hand, the more distracted and undisciplined we are, the more lost and confused we become. Eventually we reach that point that if we ask ourselves “Who am I really?” we have no idea how to reply.
