54 Pearls: 41 – Positive seed of karma

Being jealous of others will not reduce their merit. Jealousy only succeeds in planting seeds of negative karma for yourself, the fruits of which you will definitely have to bear. Rejoicing in the virtuous deeds of others will not increase their positive karma, but will plant a positive seed of karma for yourself. These seeds cannot be uprooted or stolen by anyone. If you dwell on the errors of others, you bring about your own downfall. Conversely, if you respect and praise others, you are sure to experience steady growth.
