54 Pearls: 14 – Emptiness of Emotion

When you are in a bad mood, to the best of your ability examine your mind. Observe this
troubled mind, this negative mood. Where did it come from, where did it go, where does it
reside? Repeatedly reflect in this manner and you will discover this mood has no source and no
destination. After “finding” the empty nature of your emotion, rest in the feeling of that
insubstantial quality, that lack of anything to grab on to. As you do this, you will find that
gradually your negative emotion dissipates.
